Important Update: Changes to Our Privacy Policy - Introducing Telstra Call Insights

We wanted to inform you about some important updates to our Privacy Policy at More. 

 
Introducing Telstra Call Insights

On 2 August 2024, our wholesale mobile service provider launched a scam and fraud prevention tool, Telstra Call Insights, which helps to protect mobile customers against phone scams. Because More uses the Telstra Wholesale Mobile Network, this new tool has been automatically enabled on all More mobile services. However, as set out below, you can easily opt out of this new feature. 
Telstra Call Insights operates by securely sharing network data and metrics (which do not contain your underlying customer data or contents of communications) related to users of the Telstra Wholesale Mobile Network with authorised banks and financial institutions to reduce the occurrence of fraudulent financial transactions. 
 
The use of Telstra Call Insights will occur when an authorised bank initiates a request. Typically, this will occur while a More mobile customer is on a phone call with a scammer. During the call, the mobile customer may be asked to make a transaction using their participating bank’s website or app. At this point, the bank may initiate a request to Telstra Call Insights. Using the information provided, your bank may then decide to block or hold a transaction based on the level of scam risk presented by the Telstra Call Insights data. If your bank takes this type of preventative action, it is responsible for communicating with you about this. 

 
What does this mean for you?

We've updated our Privacy Policy to cover the fact that if you have a More mobile service, your personal information related to your use of the Telstra Wholesale Mobile Network will be collected and handled by Telstra to deliver Telstra Call Insights. This occurs in accordance  with Telstra’s Privacy Statement, which is available online here. You can see the updated More Privacy Policy here.
 
Please note, by default, all More mobile customers are opted into Telstra Call Insights. If you prefer not to participate, you can easily opt out. Please click here for more information on how to opt out of Telstra Call Insights.
