What is a AVC ID and what is it used for?

An AVC ID, also known as an Access Virtual Circuit Identifier, is a unique 15-character reference (formatted as AVC followed by 12 numbers, e.g. AVC 000123456789) provided by NBN Co. This is used by internet service providers like More to identify each specific active nbn® connection at an address.

From April 2025, when you change nbn® providers, your new provider will require your AVC ID for your current connection to transfer your service. Providing your new nbn® provider with your AVC ID will enable them and NBN Co to easily identify your specific nbn® connection and smoothly process your service transfer.
