How will this change what I see on my phone?

From 1 July 2026, messages will be handled differently depending on whether the Sender ID is on the Register. 

If a business or organisation has registered its Sender ID on the Register, their messages will continue to appear with that familiar name at the top of the message thread, as they do now. 

If a message uses a Sender ID that is not on the Register, the message will be treated as unverified. Instead of showing the sender’s chosen name, the message may appear with a label such as ‘Unverified’. In some cases, these unverified messages may still appear in the same conversation thread as genuine messages from that brand, so it is important to read them carefully.
